About Me
Hi, I am Najwa Najiha. I have Diploma in TESL, Bachelor in Lingusitic and Master in TESL at UPM. As a part time English lecturer at Asia Pacific University (APU), I have nearly a year of experience teaching young adult learners. Additionally, I have two years of tutoring experience with secondary school students and approximately a year and a half of teaching primary school students. While my major subject is English, I have also taught Bahasa Melayu and Seni during my internship. I also experienced teaching KAFA in primary school, which encompassed Jawi, Feqah, Tauhid, and Sirah. Moreover, I also had experienced in conducting events (Teachers' Day events, Fashion Show events and many more). I love to engage with my students inside and outside the classrooms.
I am cheerful as well as friendly colleague and teacher. :)
Teaching Method(s)
My multi-faceted teaching experience across various age groups and subjects demonstrates my versatility and ability to adapt to different learning environments. This breadth of knowledge and expertise is invaluable in the field of education, as it allows me to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and cater to their unique learning needs. Moreover, my exposure to different subjects beyond just English showcases your intellectual curiosity and willingness to continuously expand my knowledge base.
My classroom is a vibrant and interactive learning environment where students are encouraged to actively participate and engage with the course material. I typically begin each class with a thought-provoking question or real-world example to pique students' curiosity and provide context for the topics we'll explore. Then, I present key concepts through multimedia lectures, pausing frequently to facilitate discussions and ask probing questions. This Socratic method helps develop critical thinking skills as students wrestle with ideas rather than just memorizing facts. I also incorporate regular group work and hands-on activities to reinforce concepts through practical application.
