About Me
I’ve always believed that education is more than just mastering subjects; it’s about helping students discover their strengths, develop confidence, and feel excited about learning. As someone deeply passionate about teaching, my journey has been shaped by working closely with children in different environments, guiding them not only through academics but also through personal growth.
My experience co-founding TinyEchos, a social enterprise that conducts workshops for orphans, has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my life. These workshops were designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and leadership skills. While the academic content was important, the real magic came when the kids began to believe in themselves. Watching shy, hesitant children blossom into confident, engaged individuals has been a deeply rewarding experience, and it taught me something crucial: education is about building trust, creating a safe space, and meeting each student where they are.
When it comes to tutoring, I don’t see it as just helping students pass exams; it’s about inspiring them to enjoy the process of learning and to see the value in what they’re studying. I believe every student has their own unique learning style, and I’m committed to adapting my teaching methods to meet those needs. Whether I’m working with a student who’s struggling with a particular topic or helping someone push their limits in a subject they love, my goal is always to make learning a positive and empowering experience.
One of the things I’ve learned from working with children in various settings, whether through sustainability workshops or leadership programs, is that patience and encouragement are key. I take the time to understand my students—not just their academic strengths and weaknesses, but their fears, interests, and goals. This allows me to tailor my sessions to not only teach effectively but to connect with them as individuals. I want my students to leave each session not only understanding the material but also feeling more confident in themselves.
Ultimately, I see tutoring as more than just teaching—it’s about building relationships, creating moments of discovery, and nurturing a mindset that says, “I can do this.” Every student has potential waiting to be unlocked, and I’m passionate about being the person who helps them realize just how much they’re capable of.
Teaching Method(s)
One of the most important things I’ve learned is that every student learns differently. In my workshops with TinyEchos, I worked with children who came from varying backgrounds and had different ways of understanding information. Some responded well to visual aids, others needed hands-on activities, while a few excelled with verbal discussion and storytelling. This taught me the importance of being flexible as a teacher. Whether a student learns best through practice, visuals, or discussions, I customize my lessons to fit their preferred learning style. This adaptability ensures that each student stays engaged and absorbs the material effectively.
I believe that students learn best when they can relate what they’re studying to real-life situations.
In my work with UM Sustainability and AIESEC, I saw how students became more invested when they could see the practical impact of what they were learning—whether it was sustainability in their community or global development goals. When tutoring, I apply this by making lessons interactive and relevant. For instance, while teaching economics, I bring in real-world examples like how inflation affects their everyday purchases or how saving can be linked to goals like buying a new gadget. Connecting lessons to the world around them helps students understand abstract concepts better and sparks their interest.
