My name is Nur Dalilah, and I graduated from the University of Selangor with a Bachelor of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL). While I may not have extensive experience in the field yet, I had the valuable opportunity to teach during my practicum, where I focused on secondary school students. This experience allowed me to apply my knowledge in a real classroom setting, and I became well-versed in using the Scheme of Work to guide my lessons effectively. Through this, I learned the importance of structured planning and adapting my teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of my students. I am passionate about fostering a positive learning environment and helping students develop their language skills, and I am eager to continue growing as an educator in the future.
Teaching Method(s)
I used a variety of teaching strategies tailored to each student’s needs. I particularly enjoyed introducing fundamental concepts to beginners before getting into more complex topics. To ensure that all students were on the same page, I made it a priority to give each of them individual attention. Conversely, I liked to grant my advanced and intermediate students a degree of independence, allowing them to showcase their language skills. To prepare them for upcoming tests and exams, I provided more challenging exercises to assess their progress effectively. I consistently selected materials that matched my students' interests and age groups to engage them effectively. Additionally, I made it a priority to follow the correct syllabus aligned with the CEFR to ensure they remained on track with the current curriculum.
