An educator for almost a decade teaching English, and now, MUET. Owned a degree in TESL and scored Band 7 in IELTS. My first posting was in Sabah, and now based in my hometown, Penang. I taught English in the mainstream (Form 1-5) back then but now I teach MUET in Form 6 Pre-Uni College.
Teaching Method(s)
The methods I use in class varies depending on the students’ level and topics/skills as teaching is not a one size fits all type of thing. But one thing for sure, I like involving my students in the classroom activities. Learning language requires one to constantly practise, and most of the time, students only have the opportunity to practise during class hours. I would normally introduce activities such as public speech, debates, personal reviews, group discussions etc. Not only it helps the students to thing critically, but it also helps to boost the students’ confidence to speak the language freely.
