About Me
Assalamualaikum. It's a pleasure to meet you! I am the lively Teacher Husna, reporting for duty!
First and foremost, let me tell you about my experience with teaching. I have taught Form 3 and Form 4 during my practicum as well as being a volunteer tutor at a children's center for one month, my students ranging from the youngest seven-year-old until the oldest, a 17 year old. My preferred grade range is Primary School Year 3 until Secondary School Form 5 English.
Specific soft skills that I posses are as below:
1) Innovative mindset. My teaching method involves an 'out-of-the-box' thinking process and embracing critical thinking skills to generate fresh perspectives and opinions.
2) Continuous Self-Improvement. I am always in a journey to listen, learn and improve myself to interact better with students and prepare entertaining activities that parents approve.
3) Digital Literacy. I am aware and proficient, not just in using gamification in classes but also know if certain sources are legit and reliable.
4) Adaptability. I can, without much difficulty, think of different methods and approaches to teach a range of student personalities and divergent learning styles.
If given the golden opportunity to teach your children, I will do my upmost best to make it an easy, engaging and meaningful process.
Teaching Method(s)
From my degree, practicum and volunteering experience, I have dabbled in many different forms of online teaching platforms such as listed below:
1) Gamification tools such as Quizziz, Quizlet and Wordwall. For a fun, more interactive way to engage in the main activity and reflect on what has been taught during each session.
2) Miro Whiteboard Platform. For a more reciprocated and unique approach to collaborate ideas between teacher and student using mind maps and diagrams.
3) Google Slides and Canva. For displaying teacher's notes and showcasing the main activity instructions as well as additional prompts/notes for students to jot down onto their notebooks.
4) YouTube. For auditory learning materials/aids. Students may be given a video before and/or during sessions to ignite their schemata (existing knowledge) regarding the topics at hand.
