About Me
I am Syazmi Zul Arif Hakimi Bin Saadon, a Chemical Engineering graduate with a strong passion for teaching and learning. I completed my degree in the United States at the University of Colorado Boulder and continued my postgraduate studies at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. Studying both locally and overseas has exposed me to different teaching styles and learning environments, which I now apply in my own approach to tutoring. I have experience in becoming substitute teacher in high school and also tutoring university students in their coursework.

I have experience guiding students in science and mathematics, and I always aim to make complex topics easier to understand. I enjoy helping students build confidence in their abilities and find learning enjoyable and meaningful.
Teaching Method(s)
My teaching approach is simple: meet the student where they are, and build from there. I don’t believe in rushing through topics or putting pressure to get the right answer immediately. I try to create a space where students feel safe to ask anything — even if they think it’s a small question — because that’s usually where the real learning begins. 'How' is not only the question but understand the 'why' is much more important.

I often draw from my own experiences in engineering and real-life applications to explain concepts. I find that when students can see how something works in the real world, it becomes more relatable and easier to understand. I also pay close attention to how each student learns — whether they prefer step-by-step guidance, visual examples, or repetition — and I adjust my style accordingly. I believe in following steps-by-steps can help them to understand better, rather than jumping to the answer straight away. Learning from my previous experience, sometimes it is best to work with the end in mind and start to work backwards to the main question.

More than just improving grades, I want my students to grow more confident in how they think, ask questions, and solve problems. For me, teaching isn’t about giving answers — it’s about helping someone realize they’re capable of finding them.
