🏫I have been teaching primary schools for 8 years and 10 years as a tutor.
🏫I teach students from varying age groups.
🎓I offerconduct Introductory and Remedial English lessons.
📖Introductory class is for students who are starting to learn english.
📖 Remedial class is for students that are left behind.
🏫I also tutor science and math for primary pupils.
I have been awarded with a merit of C2 in Cambridge Proficiency Test in the year 2013.
Teaching Method(s)
1. Building a strong foundation.
👩🏿🏫When introducing a new concept or new ideas, i would split learning into manageable chunks, gradually removing support as students become more confident.
2. Each students learn differently.
👩🏿🏫I believe that each student have their own way of absorbing knowledge and procees them at a different rate. Persistance and Patience are needed for all party to see the results.
3. Structured Learning.
👩🏿🏫I set concrete objective and expectation to my students for them to achieve. I design my own workbook and module for my students to follow.
4. Task based learning.
👩🏿🏫This is often practised speaking activities to give students low-stakes tasks to apply language in practical, fun ways..
I also specialise in remedial english and these are some of the method that i apply in my class; This class will be structured and are more repetitive.
1. Phonics-Based Instruction in isolation.
👩🏿🏫Based on my experience, it is more effective to teach students phonic in isolation to help them read. This will lessen their fear to make mistakes when reading. It also provides them with a guide when they encounter new unfamiliar words. I find that students are less intimidated by english after they learn that they can read it.
2. Grammar in isolation.
👩🏿🏫When students are comfortable reading english, I would introduce them to a simple sentence structure and build on it and introduce new concepts such as grammar and tenses.
