About Me
Hi, I’m Nurul. I had some really meaningful experiences that have helped me grow as a mentor and teacher. Back in the early days of my bachelor’s, I spent several months mentoring my friends and classmates, helping them make sense of few topics by breaking them down into simpler, easy to understand explanations. I also shared study tips and learning techniques that worked for different learning styles, which made it easier for them to improve and feel more confident in their studies.

It wasn’t just about the academics for me, I loved encouraging them, building their confidence, and creating a warm, supportive space where they felt comfortable asking questions and getting involved. On top of that, I also taught during my semester breaks, which gave me even more experience in explaining things clearly, adapting to different learners, and managing various learning needs. All of these experiences have shaped my teaching style into one that’s friendly, supportive, and encouraging because I believe learning should be something that feels enjoyable and inspiring for everyone.
Teaching Method(s)
In my teaching, I applied the Self-Reflection and Learning Based on Inquiry method to actively engage students in their own learning journey. Rather than simply providing answers or delivering information for memorization, I encouraged students to take an investigative approach asking meaningful questions, exploring various perspectives, and seeking out their own understanding of the subject matter. This not only helped them grasp concepts more deeply but also nurtured their curiosity and creativity.

To make this method effective, I designed learning activities that required students to connect new knowledge with their prior experiences and existing understanding. I guided them through discussions, encouraged them to research, and supported them in evaluating different sources of information. This process helped them develop stronger critical thinking and problem solving skills, while also building their ability to approach challenges with confidence.

I also incorporated regular self reflection sessions into the lessons. During these moments, students assessed their own progress, identified areas where they excelled, and pinpointed concepts they needed to revisit. This reflective practice gave them greater ownership of their learning, increased their self-awareness, and motivated them to set personal learning goals.
