About Me
I am a dedicated and dynamic chemistry lecturer at Johor Matriculation College with 7 years teaching experience. I am committed to shaping the minds of my students specializing in foundational and advanced chemistry topics. I focus on delivering clear, engaging, and student-centered lessons tailored to the diverse learning needs of matriculation students. Throughout 7 years of teaching, I've gained many awards involving my students' performance which is always on the top. With a passion for making chemistry accessible and enjoyable, I have integrated innovative teaching strategies, including gamification, flashcards (e.g., FlashChem), and social media tools such as TikTok, to bridge conceptual gaps and stimulate interest in challenging topics like organic reaction mechanisms. I've done classroom-based action research projects demonstrate a keen interest in pedagogical improvement and evidence-based practices.
Teaching Method(s)
1. Active Learning Strategies
I incorporate active learning techniques such as think-pair-share, guided inquiry, and group-based problem solving. These encourage students to articulate their reasoning, engage in peer discussions, and collaboratively solve challenging questions.

2. Scaffolded Instruction
Difficult topics—such as organic reaction mechanisms or electrochemistry—are broken down into manageable segments using scaffolding strategies. I use analogies, guided notes, and concept mapping to help students link new knowledge with prior understanding
3. Visual and Experimental Aids
Whenever possible, I use visual aids such as simulations, animations, and molecular models to represent abstract chemical processes. For practical topics, I incorporate virtual lab demonstrations or in-class mini-experiments to visualize chemical principles in action

4. Differentiated Support
Recognizing the mixed-ability nature of matriculation students, I tailor my instruction by:

- Offering extra support sessions for students who need more time to grasp concepts.

- Assigning peer mentors from high-achieving students to assist their peers (especially effective in group revision activities).

- Providing varied assessments to evaluate understanding through multiple formats—MCQs, structured questions, and verbal explanations
