My nickname is Aliyah. I started teaching Math tuition to primary school students during my matriculation, and I’m currently in my final year of a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering. I have experience teaching primary school students, with a strong focus on Mathematics. Teaching has always been something I truly enjoy. I find real joy in helping students understand concepts they once found difficult. My passion lies in making Math fun and approachable, especially for young learners who often lack confidence in the subject. One of my proudest achievements as a tutor is witnessing my students’ progress not just in grades, but in their confidence and attitude towards learning Math. Being part of that journey is what drives me to keep teaching.
Teaching Method(s)
I believe that every child learns differently, and my goal is to make learning enjoyable, engaging, and effective. In my classes, I use visual tools like diagrams, mind maps, and charts to help students clearly understand mathematical concepts. These visuals are not just eye-catching—they’re powerful in helping students retain what they’ve learned. To keep lessons exciting, I also incorporate fun quizzes and interactive exercises. These help students stay motivated, build confidence, and test their understanding in a low-pressure way. When it comes to exam preparation, I guide students using real exam-style questions and teach smart answering techniques, including time management strategies. I pay attention to each student’s strengths and weaknesses to make sure they’re not just memorizing—but truly understanding. More than just teaching, I genuinely love guiding young minds and watching them grow in both confidence and ability. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a student who once struggled in Math finally say, “Oh, now I get it!”
