My name is Mr. Jared. I have been teaching for 10 years, primarily at the secondary level, with additional experience at the college level. I am familiar with both national and international curricula, having taught subjects such as Cambridge IGCSE First Language English, Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language, Cambridge IGCSE Literature in English, SPM English, and SPM English for Science and Technology (EST). At the college level, I have taught English and English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) courses under the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) programme, as well as the English Literature course under the A-Level programme. I am also familiar with the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) syllabus. I speak English, Bahasa Melayu, and Chinese, which enables me to provide direct translation for students who do not speak English as a first language. I am proficient in using online platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Zoom. I firmly believe that every child has a unique set of talents and am committed to providing additional guidance outside of classes. I am responsive in addressing difficulties students may have.
Teaching Method(s)
I employ a versatile range of teaching methods, focusing on helping students master specific skills related to each section of the examination papers. I assign past year papers to familiarise students with the format and structure of the papers. I am a strong advocate of the flipped classroom strategy, which encourages students to exercise their critical thinking abilities. My lessons are highly interactive, with clear objectives, and I have experience adapting my lessons to meet the needs and levels of all my students.
