Greetings Everyone!!!!I am Cikgu Laila, a dedicated part-time tutor. I have been teaching several subjects for around two years. I will be graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering in July 2024, from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. My passion for academics and teaching has developed since high school when I was selected as a tutor for a low-grade class to improve their grade specifically for the mathematical subject. From the opportunity given during high school, my passion towards teaching develops as I grow older. I had helped a few students to improve their grades including a student with a Singapore syllabus from an international school. I am planning to develop more skills in teaching as well as more opportunities to help more students in their academic studies.
Teaching Method(s)
From my experience, the method of teaching depends on the personality of the students. To be more interactive with students, I would ask them questions from time to time in every session of teaching. The method of learning also differs depending on which subjects I teach. For example for mathematics subjects, a lot of practice in answering the question could improve the student's understanding. On the other hand, for Science subjects, I usually train students to do their mind map interactively to increase their memories, understanding, and familiarity with the topics I am teaching. I believe that every student has different capabilities in learning. For certain students who have lower memories, I used Acronysm to help them in answering exam questions. This has improved my SPM student who failed her trial in Science Subject but passed this subject for the SPM examination.Subject
