I am Izzah Aina. When I was 18-24 years old (2016-2022), I taught some of my neighbour's kids who were in primary school. The subjects I teach were Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics, English and Science. I have always wanted to be a teacher and when I teach them, it was purely out of passion. I enjoyed helping those kids in reading, learning how to speak in english, and finding interest in studying. I managed to help the kids to improve efficiency of study time, advising on time management, revision and note-taking skills. At the end of the year, the kids grade went up, from C to B, B to A, and D to B.Teaching Method(s)
When I teach students who do not know how to speak or read in English, I use a technique where I asked them to read an easy book, and move from one to another until they are familiar with some of the basic words. I also made Kahoot for them and see who gets the most correct answers rather than having them answering MCQ on paper. This way, they feel a bit more motivated and happy in answering my questions.Subject
