About Me

“Teacher Dayana” is one of my favorite things to be called in this whole wide world. It reflects who I am, and who I aspire to be; an educator who strives to provide the best for her students.

As a graduate from University of Malaya who graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Linguistics (with Distinction), I am very confident and comfortable with my English language skills.

I have a 1-year-experience in teaching English to children with special needs. Although it may not be the same as teaching neurotypical children, but one thing I can say for sure is that I have the patience and perseverance to teach my students until they are able to fully understand the topics. I also have experience teaching informally; as I started teaching my friends in secondary school (until they were able to obtain an A) as well as during my university years where I taught MUET subjects to my friends (one of them managed to get a Band 4 when she previously got a Band 2 before I taught her).

Teaching Method(s)

Based on my experience, the first thing I always do is assess my students capabilities and interests. I find that students learn better when they are actually interested in the lessons themselves (I may include some educational games, interactive activities, etc). I am constantly looking for new techniques that suits my students, and I am not afraid to explore.
