About Me

I’m Teacher Nurul. I am a high achiever with Bachelor's Degree in TESL holder as well as a First Class Graduate. I just recently completed my bachelors and now I’m venturing into the working world. I accomplished five years of studies in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL). Not only that, I also completed my practicum at a secondary school in Shah Alam for four months. With utmost enthusiasm and passion, I am fully ready to offer a safe, creative and fun learning space to students.

Teaching Method(s)

As a teacher, my strength and speciality is creating mnemonics for learning. I make difficult topics easy with the use of creative strategies and mnemonics. For instance, Learning a Story Plot by making a Triangle shaped gesture like a mountain figure, using both hands. The mountain consists of checkpoints which represent every stage of a story, just like climbing and descending a mountain.This enables students to understand the plot easier instead of just memorising the words literally. I also came up with a technique of using 5 Fingers to Write a Poem etc. I believe with the use of mnemonics and creative strategies, this will make learning fun and memorable. I integrate the use of physical movement in learning. I also incorporate the use of technology in education. For instance, playing a game online (self made) to learn about idioms and such. I assess and keep in track of the students’ learning progress to make sure they actually upgrade their learning performance from time to time and also offering a warmth, safe, modern space for learning to relieve the students’ stress level. This helps to promote their intrinsic motivation.
