About Me
I'm Ameerul Atef, currently a medical student at International Medical University (IMU), Bukit Jalil. Previously, I have graduated from Sekolah Sultan Alam Shah (SPM - Pure Science), and Kolej MARA Kulim (Foundation - Science). I've had a few experiences in the world of teaching before. I was the tutor for Physics, Biology, English and Bahasa Melayu in my upper secondary school years. As a tutor, my peers found me as an approachable and understanding person. I am very eager and keen to help my students understand the topics they find difficult, especially the fundamentals to those learning issues. I prioritize inegrity, commitment, discipline and punctuality. I believe that learning requires a personalised approach, and that there's no one size fits all. I will put in my efforts to adjust my teaching methods to adapt and match with my students' capacities and different learning levels. Due to the nature of my current studies, I am well-versed in Biology and English. Although I am not an 'Ustaz', I am also capable of teaching the Quran. I have enrolled in a Tahfiz programme for 6 years since an early age. Feel free to reach out and learn together with me!
Teaching Method(s)
I minimise the usage of lengthy texts and endless slides when teaching. I will breakdown large, complex topics into smaller chunks of information to allow my students to grasp the basics of each topic and understand better. Essentially, I want my students to understand the topic, it doesn't matter how we get to that point. I will avoid giving out homework to my students at all costs. I am here to help students understand what they're learning, not adding more to their workload. I will adapt my teaching style with my students' needs. Before the start of each class, I will ask my students to state their difficulties in the topic they wish to learn, and I will make sure they get their gray areas clarified before the end of the session. I prefer students to ask more questions so I know their learning gaps, and I'll help them bridge those gaps.
