About Me

Hi, I am Neresh, with 7 years of enriching experience as a educator in an International School. I have a diploma in TESOL. I have been a part time tutor for about 4 years now. I have taught English and Mathematics in Kumon for about 3 months in total. I've been a freelance tutor for past 2 years, teaching Early Years(3to 5 years old) and Primary(7-8 years old) to guide the students with home works and reading. Other than that, as a dedicated specialist in teaching phonics my professional journey revolves around instilling a strong foundation in literacy skills for young learner. With keen focus on the crucial link between phonics and reading success. I have developed a specialized skill set to impart this fundamental aspect of language acquisition.

Teaching Method(s)

My teaching technique is UNDERSTAND and LEARN. Before starting i use quick interactive warm-up or ice breakers activities to engage the students related to the subject matter in a fun way to start the session, example flash card or singing song. In physical classroom, i usually teach the concept of subject matter and ensure that they completely understand the basics and fundamentals of topic. Then i promote them with critical thinking by asking open-ended questions or have quizzes to evaluate their understanding on the subject matter. I prefer monitoring their understanding on the subject matter and clarify their doubts if any. In my physical and online class i will prepare my own teaching material according to the ability of students.
