Teaching Method(s)

I strongly believe in creating a positive and active engaging environment that caters to specific individual needs that may differ from one person to another. My personalized teaching approach combines both traditional teaching methods and active two ways of interaction between tutor and student to make learning English enjoyable and effective. The approach and methods used are more flexible depending on the student's learning styles and their ways of comprehending the input.
Several teaching strategies that will be implemented during the learning session:
- Focusing on fluency in communication through hands-on lessons and completion of a task
- Encouraging students to think and speak in the English language during learning activities such as reading aloud, writing, Q+A sessions
- Understanding vocabularies and grammar rules to improve accuracy and enhance the development of both reading and writing skills
- Emphasizing listening skills through audio of conversation of native speaker and English movies
- Providing a more student-centered learning environment to encourage students to be more independent and seek answers by themselves, especially teen learners, employing educational games (i.e. flashcards, word puzzle/search, Kahoot, Quizziz) to allow the students to solve the problems and learning through movement as students perform physical activities where they move around and use their creativity (e.g. drawing & coloring, role-playing).
Besides that, I also utilize materials that are suitable for learning, for example, modules, worksheets, and exercises following the current textbook syllabus as well as other reference books and past years' exam papers. I believe that integrating learning materials from different sources is strongly helpful in preparing students for their upcoming exams at school as well as their language literacy and development.
