About Me
I am a passionate educator with a strong foundation in teaching English, alongside proficiency in Bahasa Melayu, Sejarah, and Mathematics for primary and lower secondary students. My experience as a replacement teacher for Form 1 and Form 2 History has allowed me to cultivate a creative and dynamic approach to lesson planning, fostering an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
I have experience teaching remedial students in reading and counting at Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Panglima. Within a month, my students showed significant improvement; they can recognize the alphabet, syllable sounds, and understand basic addition and subtraction.
I am adept at integrating digital tools to enhance learning experiences, aligning my teaching methods with the demands of 21st-century education. Additionally, I have authored two bilingual essay books containing 120 essays, which are utilized in the Beautiful Programme at SK Taman Panglima Taiping.
My ultimate goal is to inspire students to master English and core subjects while developing critical thinking and communication skills essential for their future success.
Teaching Method(s)
In my teaching practice, I employ various innovative and interactive methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. One of the key methods I utilize is integrating technology into the classroom. For instance, I have successfully implemented the HIP Corner Program, which included creating a "The Wizard of Vocabularies" board to make vocabulary learning more engaging for my students. Additionally, I have developed educational animations and games using PowerPoint, which not only make learning enjoyable but also cater to different learning styles.
I also focus on personalized learning approaches, particularly for remedial students. During my time as a replacement teacher, I taught reading using effective techniques and developed an ABC Writing Module along with Reading Cards to support students in recognizing the alphabet and syllable sounds. Furthermore, I authored a book titled "Mari Membaca," aimed at helping students improve their literacy skills.
Collaboration and creativity are also central to my teaching methods. I organized an "Online Storytelling Competition" for Level 2 students, which encouraged them to express their creativity while improving their language skills. By fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, I aim to help students develop critical thinking and communication skills essential for their future.
I used a structured approach in my lessons, including pre-lesson, lesson development, and post-lesson activities. This helps my students understand what to expect, guides them through the learning process, and gives them opportunities to reflect and reinforce their learning. I make lessons fun and engaging by incorporating interactive activities, such as games or exercises that encourage participation. For example, I used group activities and quizzes to reinforce grammar rules, making learning more dynamic and enjoyable. Also, I incorporated rewards to motivate students, especially during activities and games. This not only makes learning more enjoyable but also helps maintain a positive and encouraging classroom environment. Understanding that each student learns at a different pace, you adapt your teaching to meet the varying needs of your students. This could mean providing additional support or more challenging tasks, depending on the student’s progress.
