All About Me – Teacher Nia

Hi there! My name is Nithiya, but everyone calls me Teacher Nia. It’s short, simple, and easy for the little ones to remember.

I’ve been teaching children from 2 years old up to 6 years old, and I truly enjoy working with them. These early years are full of energy, curiosity, and so many opportunities to explore and learn in fun ways.

I teach a range of subjects including English, Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics, Science, Art and Craft, and Montessori. Every day is a new chance to explore something exciting, whether it's discovering how plants grow or creating colourful art projects.

One of my strengths is turning lessons into enjoyable and hands-on experiences. I like to use creative methods like small talks, interactive games, and hands-on learning to keep the children engaged and excited about learning. My goal is always to make learning feel natural and fun.

For me, the best part of teaching is seeing how much children can grow and achieve when they feel supported, encouraged, and happy in their learning environment.

When it comes to teaching, I always believe that fun and learning should go hand in hand.

If I’m teaching face-to-face, I love using hands-on techniques like puzzles, flashcards, simple science experiments, crafts, and role-play. If a child starts to feel tired or bored from too much writing, I’ll quickly add in some fun educational games to refresh their mood and make the lesson enjoyable again.

For virtual classes, I make full use of screen-sharing tools to play interactive educational games, show engaging videos, and use colourful visual materials. This keeps my students focused and makes learning exciting, even from a distance.

To help my students understand what they’re learning, I use simple explanations, real-life examples, and lots of repetition in creative ways. I believe in active participation, so I encourage them to ask questions, talk about what they’ve learned, and try things out themselves.

For helping them score well, I teach smart techniques like understanding keywords in questions, using mind maps to organise information, and practising with fun quizzes. I focus not only on memorising but truly understanding the topics in an easy and playful way.

With the right mix of creativity, support, and strategy, I make sure every child feels confident, happy, and ready to shine in their learning journey!
