About Me

Hello everyone, I’m Shalini Palaniappan from Seremban. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (TESL), which enables me to learn and apply effective methods to teach in a simple and meaningful way. I am a patient, dedicated, and passionate tutor with around 2 years of teaching experience. I have taught students from Kindergarten to SPM level, covering all subjects, depending on the student’s needs. I conduct both home tuition and online classes. My goal is to help students improve their understanding, confidence, and performance in their studies. My teaching style is simple, clear, and student-friendly. I always teach according to the student’s level and learning speed. I explain step by step, use easy examples, and make sure students fully understand before moving to the next topic. I also make my classes fun and interactive. I don’t only give exercises, but I also use activities like Kahoot quizzes, discussions, and Q&A sessions. I encourage students to share their opinions and talk about their learning difficulties. This helps them feel more comfortable and active in class. I act more like a friendly mentor rather than a strict teacher, so students feel relaxed and confident to learn. One of my strengths is helping weak students improve gradually and build their confidence. I simplify difficult topics into easy parts so they can understand better. I also provide regular progress updates to parents so they can clearly see improvement. My goal is not only to help students score better in exams, but also to help them enjoy learning, build confidence, and improve step by step in all subjects.

Teaching Method(s)

My teaching method works effectively for both home tuition and online tuition because I focus on clear explanations, personalised learning, and consistent student progress. I teach all subjects, depending on the student’s needs, and I always make learning simple, clear, and easy to understand. I use simple notes, guided exercises, quizzes, and interactive activities to help students understand topics better and improve their confidence. I always break difficult topics into small and easy steps so students can learn without feeling stressed. For students who are weak, I guide them step by step in subjects like Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, Science, and other subjects. I focus on basic concepts, keyword techniques, sentence building, and simple answering methods so they can improve slowly but surely. For online classes, I use slides, screen-sharing, and interactive exercises to make lessons more interesting and easy to follow. I also make sure students stay active, involved, and focused during the lesson. I am a friendly, patient, and supportive tutor. I believe students learn better when they feel comfortable and confident. I always encourage students to ask questions without fear, and I treat them like a friendly mentor rather than a strict teacher. I also try to understand each student’s personality, interest, and learning pace, so I can teach them in the best and most suitable way. Besides academic improvement, I also provide regular progress updates to parents so they can clearly see their child’s development and improvement. My main goal is to help students not only improve in all subjects, but also to build confidence, develop interest in learning, and enjoy every lesson.

Since having one to one sessions with Teacher Shalini..Aufa shows tremendous improvement especially in writing email and brainstorming ideas for her writing. She also has a better understanding of the exam questions. These help to boost her confidence during her school classes and exams. As a result, she claimed the highest marks in her class during the recent English exam. Aufa also mentioned that she feels comfortable during the session and found that teacher is very approachable and committed to assist her. Teacher also able to identify her strength and weakness, which allow her to strategically plan for the session better.
