My name is Sharmila Gunasegaran, and I am from Ipoh, Perak. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Education, majoring in TESL, which equips me with strong skills to teach English effectively. I am a dedicated, patient, and passionate tutor with experience in both home and online tuition, helping students improve their reading, comprehension, and overall confidence in English and Bahasa Melayu. I personalise my lessons based on each student’s learning style, using step-by-step guidance, clear explanations, and practical examples to make learning simple and engaging. My strengths include helping weak students improve steadily, simplifying difficult topics, and keeping parents updated on their child’s progress. I aim not only to help students score better academically, but also to build their confidence and make learning enjoyable.

My teaching method is effective for both home and online tuition because I focus on clear explanations, personalised learning, and consistent progress. In home tuition, I use simple materials like reading cards, mind maps, and worksheets to guide students step by step, such as helping them identify keywords and main ideas in BM comprehension. For online lessons, I use slides, quizzes, and screen-sharing to keep students engaged, especially when practising tatabahasa like imbuhan and kata adjektif. I also provide targeted exercises, visual notes, and mini tests to track improvement, while regularly updating parents on student progress. Overall, my approach is patient, structured, and focused on helping students improve effectively in any learning setting.
